Maarten Halma: Entrepreneur of the Year!

During the Entrepreneurs Gala held in Wijchen yesterday evening (02-11-2010) three businessmen were awarded the title of Entrepreneur of the Year.

The expert jury named Sten Knuiman of Promec bv and Waterflex bv the most Talented Up and Coming Entrepreneur 2010. The jury described Knuiman as an entrepreneur who ‘makes a point of standing out from the market and provides highly advanced services for his customers.’ Promec provides mechanical engineering services. Waterflex specialises in highly precise waterjet cutting of metal and other materials.

Maarten Halma of Halma Packaging bv was awarded the title in the Construction, Industry and Wholesale category. Halma produces packaging and items designed for single use. The jury described Halma as a ‘world class entrepreneur’ and praised him for his commitment to Wijchen and for his modesty. The fact that he runs his company as a sustainable business is an added bonus.

Rob Schilten was named Entrepreneur of the Year in the Service, Hospitality and Retail category. He is managing director of the VakantieXperts De Planeet travel agency. The jury also commended his huge commitment to Wijchen and the fact that he ‘serves his customers from the heart’.
